Furry Comic Dog Days Of Summer

week of love - part 1: Danang, which is about how in love with the lonely

It was a week of love. I fell in love and loved. I do not even know if I reciprocated - Vietnam is not the love of a grateful recipient. Has a rather heavy character. At the beginning of repels and terrifies. But it is a bit like Dr. House. How to break through its shell, it turns out, it's really nice place ...

time to the first part of my story. As the title;)

Top travel was simple. We had to just get on the plane, take him and fly to Danang. There was no room for change and improvisation. And I hate that stability and certainty, and where I'll do what I could not decide the hotel. The more that I landed in Danang quite late, around 21st The final decision is already made my stand on a street in Danang. Stay in Hoa's Place! And it was the best decision we could take. The rooms are not special - just a bed, the toilet and shower. But who needs more? The more that taniocha. But soon I found out why this place is so famous and so married to the tourists. The possibility of a common seat at the big table, with a great jedzonku, drinking beer with people from all over the world ... Hoa and his wife own care here is that there was a warm family atmosphere ... I have the best spring rolls in the entire Vietnam! Stuck in this place at all three nights, although I planned to be the only one.
Hoa himself

first day I set off to explore Danang. There are three main points of the trip. I started Czampskiej Sculpture Museum. One of the largest (if not the largest) collection of sculptures and bas-reliefs Czampskich. In a truly showcases Vietnamese style covers a thick layer of dust ... Luckily there were a lot of people so I could popstrykać some photos (which are generally not allowed to do there.) You will find in this museum such gems:

So will explain. This woman is dancing on top. I wondered, looking at the statue of why she is such a strange pose. I would not criticize the ancient artist, a lack of talent to the mapping of the human figure, because all the other sculptures refute this. But she strongly does not look like dancing ... At least for me. Puzzle solved in My Son. But this will be the next photo. Let me just say that they REALLY just danced. And it was the strangest dance I've ever seen: P

Well, but coming back to our museum. After passing a couple of rooms, pozachwycaniu the attention to detail, communing with history (which as you know I had not been for you brother) I found something that made it stood as the branded. Wmurowało me totally. Prior to that display case I spent a lot of time;) Increase the picture itself is.

you know? "Somehow I never showed a sign of the outstanding special patriotism. I feel rather a child of the global village, and administrative divisions has always seemed to me artificial. But in spite of everything as it is so far from the Polish any signs of the fact that someone here knows of its existence is somehow delightful. Even I felt some sort of pride looking at the cabinet. But I was also very nice when I came to know canoeing at Hoa's Place said her ex-man is a Pole and was able to say a few words in Polish. Or when a Vietnamese as he learned that I am of Polish showed me a postcard from Torun (!!!) and I once got a mention of John Paul II (this is the way to Hoi An - that is, the next note). Or when drunk (well, drunk - partying with my friends in Vietnam: P), an Englishman, whom I met in Hanoi Backpacker's Hotel, told how he likes Polish girl, but does not like the Polish guys. And that a lot of Poles in England. And even apart from "to * a" and "sleep * laj 'could say "strawberry", "strawberry", "orange", "cherry" and some other fruits. Do not ask me why just the fruit and how much they knew. But it was nice. :) Oh, such a longer digression I did it ...

Anyway, time to get back to the topic. After leaving the museum I came across a Vietnamese compatriot, who offered me obwiezienie driven around the area. Surprisingly, spoke English well - this rarely happens. After lengthy negotiations ubiliśmy market:) And by the way he bought me a very cheap water and toothpaste P So pomykając crowded streets of the city we arrived at the Phap Lam Pagoda. There you will find three large statues of Buddha to the outside and a really powerful in the middle.

really make an impression, believe me. But as the Pagoda Pagoda. It's hard to have a good look at the wealth of details and ornaments. I could sit there for hours ...

Unfortunately, sitting for hours in the Pagoda was not an option. The next chapter: Danang Department. Catholic this time. By "tambylców" also known as Con Ga Church - that the Church Cock ... I have no idea why. Is very high, in a typical European-style (after all, built by the French, does not look like) i. .. pink ....

And inside you can find pretty nice stained glass windows with scenes from the Bible and paintings of saints. There's this peace and quiet. This happens to reflect ...

But I not really in a sentimental mood I was, so after I moved pozachwycaniu the delicious to see the Temple of Cao Dai . According to my guide is the second largest of this kind in Vietnam. But it somehow does not present itself very impressive. In any event, not in terms of size. But religion itself is quite interesting ... The third in the number of followers in Vietnam, heavily politicized, which combines various elements from Buddhism, Confucianism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, and Taoism. Ot. Something for everyone. Cao Dai is the kingdom of heaven. They believe in one God, who sent different prophets to have created different religions (Buddha, Christ, Mahometta etc). But the truth is one. Quite reasonable, no? God is here symbolized by the Divine Eye. Repeating after Wikipedia: "in particular left eye, because Yang is a party to the left and God is the master Yang (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cao_Dai ) Hmmm ... do not come to my witty commentary on the head; P Let us move to the photos;)

Has anyone an idea how to recognize that this eye is left and not right?

But enough for the eyes. There is a place which you must visit. From anywhere on the beach at Danang you will see again, a huge statue of Buddha. Towering over the city almost as a statue of Christ over Rio de Janeiro. Seriously, you can see the resemblance;)

To Rio de Janeiro
And this Danang;)

statue stands on the so-called Monkey Island. A big chunk from the center. It leads to a bridge:

And the road goes up among the beach where you can enjoy these views:

And then a long, long upward. And finally reach the beautiful Pagoda with great views. Sam statue by my guide is 62 meters and is really impressive. In the photo at right below the entrance stands a man. Give you an idea of \u200b\u200bhow huge it is building.

And on the way back to the hotel zahaczyliśmy a museum in Ho Chi Minh City. Unfortunately it was closed, so I could only popodziwiać some of the exhibits through the gate. Here are some of them.

And below you have an example of one of the many propaganda posters in the country. The last I heard, moreover, that students learn to create propaganda posters to art schools in the fields related to applied arts ...

The great advantage of Hoa's Place is that it is some 150m from the beach. The sea is wonderful: very warm, with large waves and very salty. A clean and sandy beach;)

And you can find interesting critters:) As for example, crabs. Such a small and funny. Australian claims that they call him "Ghost Crab" or crab Spirit. Name even adequate ... But it has a nice big eyes ... ;)

Later that day I went to the Marble Mountains which are located some 10km from the center of Danang, and some 2 to Hoa's Place. The mountains are really marble. Moreover, much of the the local population lives from the sale of tiny, medium or very large figure (s) marble. Obviously wyrabianych quite on the street. Mountains make a big impression (although figures too). They are not like our mountains, sloping gently downward. They look as if suddenly sprung up from the earth. At some point you become just the vertical wall ... Anyway, see for yourself. Was marked out route, which passes a small temple, falls on the peaks, passes through a dark cave. The entire walk takes about 2 an hour and is quite tiring, but the views compensate any fatigue ...

Pretty cool, huh? ;)

As slowly began to get dark it was time to go back to Hoa's Place. On the next day at 7 am appointment was on a motor trip to My Son and Hoi An. And this time I've had a little dip in the sea, but about 19 to eat dinner with all the ... And then sit for a long time over a beer talking about nothing and everything. Until a Dutchman suggested we went to the disco ... There would be nothing strange, if not the fact that the guy has over 50 years. Unfortunately, as it was raining we decided to just me, the already mentioned Dutch (and maybe a Dane? "She can not remember - but he has lived for many years in Danang), whose name was Andre, and Byrne - The Australian (the one lucky enough to have my 24 year old: P). The event was amazing. I think I mentioned this, right? For the price of having to pay for beer in Europe and one evening I could feel like a real VIP. From the moment Pan garniaku opened me the door of the taxi ever watched someone that we did not miss anything. Pour us a beer before it was over, told us the fire as soon as they touched the box of cigarettes, paved the way through the crowd and watched, so we do not interfere with the Vietnamese sometimes pushy. Strange in the beginning I felt among those smart guys and girls in high heels and short skirts - I am in trekking boots, ordinary T-shirt and pants, but quickly passed me. I could really enjoy this little luxury in a big club with loud music, a dance floor, laser lights, and - of course, to the delight of my companions - the girls dancing on the pipes. I regret that I had no camera. I hope that someday Byrne throw off your photos on fb: DA at the end of this time, but my pics of my comrades. Has special traditional greeting, which probably will never reach their destination;)

Why I wrote that I fell in love here in the lonely journeys? Well, you know me. I really love meeting new people and change their plans from day to day and from hour to hour. I do not have to reckon with anyone or no one is asking for his opinion ... Oh yes, it is independence, which was particularly hard felt in Danang, discussing what they met Londoner of the meaning of life ...
