flew from Warsaw in the middle of winter - snow, frost. We landed in a very pleasant temperature - about plus 18 degrees. With mild astonishment see people dressed in boots, winter jacket.
so we bid farewell to Warsaw - and so welcomed Greece
reached by metro to the center - we selected out of his pit at Syntagma Square on December 31 in the afternoon.
From the place I felt as if someone threw me in the washing machine on spin cycle program: around a crowd of people - some of them enter the subway, others go - a lot of people like a river moving in different directions - we had to be very careful that the current does not grabbed us in the wrong direction - Syntagma - it's in Polish Children Constitution - one of the main squares of Athens, located on the Parliament. But Syntagma Square is also a big subway station, where two lines intersect. On the surface of the second madness: it was after New Year's Eve. The square set is a great tree, a kind of scene, a crowd of people, vendors - with balloons, puppets, the fate of the lottery and the damn knows what else. Those of things for children act treacherously: reach for a child with a toy hand: which trzylatek not take a balloon, as someone gives him? And a mother of a balloon take off from the hand of a child rather than pay? I was just such a mother, Victor, of course, to the despair.
Crying sweet Blondas aroused the interest of passers-by who saw the extra luggage loaded with parents, offering his help. We managed
we walked slowly toward the hotel - and the turmoil around us, noise, cars, buses, trolley buses, taxis, which are easy to recognize because they are yellow, and the mass, the mass of motorcycles, which have no stress flitted between cars and buses: one word of chaos.
Welcome to Athens!
After check-in at the hotel, dropping bags and odsapnięciu went to explore the area.
Our hotel was situated in the ancient district of Plaka, the Acropolis almost - around the narrow streets and picturesque mass of souvenir shops.
had fallen the night - but that does not mean that it became empty-on the contrary, was teeming with life Plaka: open taverns and cafes, shops lit up, a lot of people walking around and absorbing the atmosphere as we do. Above us the wonderfully illuminated Acropolis - and the nearby hills for spectacular views across the city.
New Year ... He slept. Tired of travel and new experiences - we drank our champagne around 21 and went to sleep;)

Acropolis
Next day we passed on a lazy stroll around the Acropolis - the day was very warm, we walked - as indeed the only - in short sleeves. Hard Greeks pretend to have severe winter;) also tried Greek cuisine in one of the many tavernas - once again, we found that we like Mediterranean cuisine.
idling end tomorrow - in front of us receive from the rental car and head into the unknown in the direction of the Peloponnese.
